University students should wear the uniform.

It’s well-known that at the majority of Russian Universities the uniform is not obligatory and students may wear whatever they want within the confines of ethics. But the truth is that the casual dress code has a negative impact on students. So it’s necessary to oblige them to wear the same uniform. First of all, the implementation of the uniform will reduce bullying making all students feel equal. Think of women’s rights in the mid of the 16th century when women didn’t have not only a right to vote but even a right to have an education. They were constantly humiliated and disgraced for their powerlessness and dependence. Being discriminated and completely disadvantaged women had to fight for their rights causing social unrest and feministic riots. If we don’t want students to feel unequal, we should introduce the uniform.

Secondly, school uniform will help establish a sense of discipline among students, making them less likely to act out or break other rules. Those students who advocate for casual wear are just marginals who are least interested in studies. All they want is to undermine the discipline at our universities. Do they expect us to officially allow them to be late for classes or put their feet on the table? Such expectations are nonsense and absurd.

Thirdly, the best educational institutions in the World oblige students to wear the uniform! Think of Oxford, Eton College, University of Tokyo and many others! We should follow their tradition of the uniform if we want to reach the same level.

Finally, students want to have a uniform, because those who are against are going to be promptly expelled.
